The 2021 Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal -  by Sunday 14th November 2021.

Thank you very much for your very generous donations of items, shoeboxes and money to support this year’s Samaritan’s Purse shoebox appeal. We are blessed to have so many kind and talented people in our community as there were some beautifully crafted items in the boxes. We collected a total of 70 shoeboxes and £405 to assist their transport and the Samaritan’s Purse work for Operation Christmas Child. Thank you to everyone who helped with packing, transport and networking in the community. Your advice and support is very much appreciated.

Please pray that each child receiving a shoebox learns about the love of Christ and develops faith by completing the discipleship programme called ‘The Greatest Journey.’

to find out more about the Operation Christmas Child campaign. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Every child who receives a shoebox has the opportunity to complete ‘The Greatest Journey’ Bible course which brings children to Jesus, faith and discipleship and equips them to take the Gospel to others.

Let’s beat last year’s fantastic achievement!

Last year we sent 78 boxes and donated £100 to Samaritan’s Purse (which bought a further 5 boxes that were packed online). Our other donations also paid for transport of all the boxes. Various items were also donated to the warehouse for inclusion into other boxes. Many items were beautiful home made gifts (scarves, hats, mirrors made from old cds - to mention just a few) and some were functional gifts (washable sanitary items, flannels), which people have been busy making all year. People also enclosed lovely cards, photos and hand written notes for the recipients. What a wonderful way to share the joy of giving and receiving at Christmas - but perhaps we can do even better this year?!

Thank you for supporting this joyous initiative.

Government advice will be followed in relation to social distancing and the use of face masks. There will also be a limit to the number of people allowed into the building. We will have to adapt to any changes in advice and regulations as they develop over time.
